BARROW-BORN KIM SMITH, PR and Marketing Consultant who runs SLPR: “Since returning to my hometown in 2003 I have seen a great many changes taking place within the town – all for the better. I have lived and worked in many cities in the UK and truly believe, you can’t beat Barrow for its friendliness and cleanliness.
“While living away I regularly came back to visit my family and friends and always enjoyed going for long beach walks to enjoy Barrow’s beautiful surroundings and its tranquil setting.
“I have since secured a number of contracts in the Furness area and enjoy working with fellow, down to earth, no nonsense business people. Of course I would like to see more of some things, like better leisure facilities, but we are starting to see some quality restaurants and wine bars opening up in the town.
“The schools here are wonderful too and I can’t praise the staff at Bramlongstaffe enough for the wonderful support they offer my daughter and I.
“Since moving back, my business has gone from strength to strength. I truly wouldn’t choose anywhere else to be in business.
“I Love Barrow.”

Have your say

I was born in Barrow in 1948, then Fostered in Barrow, then Adopted and moved to Lancashire.
My wife and I often see Russell doing his shopping in our village supermarket.
What a lovely man, and so polite.

Great to see him both on and off screen!!

I was born and brought up in Barrow. I left when I got married but I still love to go back to visit whenever I can. Barrow has a beautiful park and lovely beaches. I feel very fortunate to have spent my childhood there.
