ALEX Amacna, from the Philippines and Andrea Evans, from Barrow, married at St Charles’s RC Church in Grange.

PROPOSAL: Alex and Andrea met 12 years ago when working together and then lost contact until they met up again in 2013. Alex proposed in front of family and friends at a birthday celebration.

VENUE: St Charles’s Catholic Church, Grange. The day and evening receptions were at the Netherwood Hotel, Grange.

BRIDE’S OUTFIT: Mori Lee ivory satin gown with crystal detail from Wedding Daze.

GROOMSMEN: Suits were hired from Mr Mister in Barrow. Eli Terre and Jingle Gozun, the groom’s best friends, were the groomsmen and the ringbearer was Jarvin Amacna, the groom’s son. The groomsmen wore tailored tuxedoes with a coral handkerchief to match the bridesmaids.

BRIDESMAIDS: Diane McCarthy, the bride’s best friend, and Abby Shepherd, the bride’s niece. The flowergirl was Keanna Gozun, the couple’s friend’s daughter. The bridesmaids wore coral coloured chiffon dresses with diamante detail and the flowergirl wore an ivory satin dress.

FLOWERS: A selection of lilies and orchids to match the colour theme of ivory and coral. They were made by the bride’s mother.

RECEPTION: Guests arrived at the Netherwood Hotel after the wedding ceremony to a champagne, Pimm’s and canapé reception, followed by a three-course meal served to 54 guests.

FAVOURS: The favours were made by the bride and groom and consisted of a miniature bottle, chocolate and cigar for the men and chocolates and hanging heart decoration for the ladies. Frozen and Minions packs were given to the children.

CAKE: The cake was made by the bride’s sister Lesley Mease. It was a three-tier traditional wedding cake covered in white icing and iced flowers.

FIRST DANCE: The bride and groom danced to All That You Are by the Goo Goo Dolls.

ENTERTAINMENT: The fandango – a mixture of flamenco, classical guitar music – played after the meal during coffee, followed by the Netherwood’s resident DJ – Dave Marwood for the evening entertainment. A hog roast was prepared and served by Satty’sfaction outside catering company for all the evening guests. Included with the hog was a selection of salads, garlic potatoes, sauces and bread rolls.

HONEYMOON: The couple have postponed their honeymoon due to their baby’s arrival in October. They will honeymoon on a Mediterranean cruise next July.
