Barrow-born Karen Dodding, a 45-year-old centre manager at Abbotsvale Community Centre married her long time love Sean Lancaster, a 45-year-old storesman at Furness Fluid Power, on Saturday August 27, 2016.

How they met: The couple both worked in the Lakes 25 years ago. They were then friends for a year before they got together.

Proposal: When Karen became pregnant with their first son Daniel 23 years ago, Sean proposed and the couple had a long engagement. They have now been together for 24 years and have two children together, Daniel who is 22 and Ashleigh, 20.

Venue: The Chetwynde Hotel, Abbey Road, Barrow.

Colour scheme: Pink and purple.

Bride's Outfit: A Verise Bridal Collection floor length ivory dress with a sweetheart neckline, Swarovski encrusted bodice and a chiffon skirt from Wedding Daze, Barrow.

Groomsmen: William Dodding (bride's father), Daniel Lancaster (the couple's son) and Ethan Dodding (bride's nephew).

Bridesmaids: Ashleigh Lancaster (couple's daughter), Rachel Moyse, Diana Wilcock and Isabel Dodding (bride's niece).

Flower girl: Darcey-Mae Bradford (groom's niece).

Flowers: Purple orchids, calla lilies and cream and light pink roses. The hand-held arrangements were made by Alyson at Posh Flowers, Barrow. There was also a rose wand for two year-old Darcey-Mae and matching buttonholes for the wedding party and family.

Reception: The Chetwynde Hotel.

Table settings: Centre pieces of crystal hurricane lamps with a scented candle, ivy and a purple orchid entwined around the stem were all hand crafted by the bride. The top table had flower arrangements made by Posh Flowers.

Favours: Yankee Candles in decorated organza for the ladies and miniature bottles of Grey Goose vodka, toffee vodka, spiced rum and gin in miniature ice buckets for the gentleman. The children received large chocolate lollipops from the hotel.

Cake: A three-tier confection made up of lemon drizzle, chocolate marble and salted caramel. Then a separate fruit cake to match the main cake with hand made sugar orchids and roses to match the bridal flowers from Sugar Pie, Barrow.

First Dance: Ella Henderson - Yours.

Entertainment: A disco provided by DJ Dan Hayes and a photo booth.

Honeymoon: The whole family spent two weeks in Florida and then the couple took an extra romantic holiday just for the two of them in Tenerife in November.
