TWO Barrow teenage sweethearts affirmed their love for one another by tying the knot surrounded by their friends and family in a natural summer ceremony on Thursday August 25, 2016.

Student nurse, Michaela Wood, 28, and her team manager husband Adam Dawson, also 28, first met on the college bus many moons ago.

Proposal: The magic moment happened while the couple were halfway through a camping holiday in Eskdale. One night after a meal, the pair got back to the tent and while Michaela was making a cup of tea, Adam bent down on one knee and popped the question. The answer was of course a 'yes', but Michaela jokingly admitted that she will always remember the moment as two minutes after the proposal, her beau poured boiling hot water on her ankle which caused their holiday to be cut short.

Venue: The Wild Boar Inn, Crook, Bowness.

Theme: Nature, wild, rustic and colourful.

Groomsmen: Darren Coward (best man), Jamie Campion, Scott Boyns.

Bridesmaids: Gemma Wood, Alice Wood, Amy Dawson.

Flowers: The bride and her mum Linda Wood made them together. They also made wands for every guest which were shaken with joy as soon as the couple officially declared 'I do'.

Transport: The groom arrived in his friend's pride and joy - his Mini. The married couple later took to the hotel's jeep into the surrounding woodland and the tarn so that they could take some pictures.

Reception: The Wild Boar Inn.

Table settings: The tables were named after all the great areas the couple love in the Lakes, such as the Old Man of Coniston, Tarn Hows and many more. The pair made their own crackers with jokes, key rings and bath bombs and everyone was given a complimentary scratchcard.

Cake: The cake was made by Christine Dacre of Cake Events in Barrow. She created a three-flavoured cake which included chocolate and peanut butter, rhubarb and custard and salted caramel. She also made gluten free cupcakes for the guests with allergies and gluten intolerance.

First Dance: You and Me by Pink and Dallas Green.

Entertainment: Local magician Joel Dickinson entertained the masses with card games throughout the evening, while Gary Mills, a DJ from Blackpool, got people dancing by playing a set. Barrow entertainment company Funtastic also provided a photobooth for guests to take wacky photos in. The morning after, the guests who stayed over celebrated with the new Mr and Mrs Dawson by enjoying some clay pigeon shooting which was organised by Mike Coats from Windermere.

Honeymoon: The couple enjoyed a long weekend 'mini moon' at the Burnside Hotel in Bowness and are looking at booking a holiday to Florida in a few years' time.
