TWO gorgeous cats have really started to come into their own having started to get used to life in a shelter after being made homeless through no fault of their own.

Now they know they are safe and have got to know their carers tabby and white Kitty has turned into a friendly and curious moggy who would make a wonderful pet for any cat lover.

She simply loves getting attention from anyone especially once she gets to know you and is a gentle loving cat.

She was brought into care at the Animal Welfare shelter, Rawlinson Street, Barrow, after spending time in a very good home.

Unfortunately she was scared of the three dogs who she also shared the home with, plus she was being bullied by the other neighbourhood cats.

She does love people and in her own forever home, without other cats or dogs, would soon settle in and be completely confident. Kitty is aged around five and in very good health.

Black and white Jerry is also now a different cat to the one which came into care several weeks ago.

After coming in as a stray, Jerry was also very timid and unsure of everyone he met – what a change moving forward a fortnight though.

Now this fit and healthy cat comes up for attention and will flop onto his side in a bid to get you to pat him.

This is another cat who any pet lover would want to have around the house.

Yoyo is the most beautiful black glossy cat who has been waiting far too long for his permanent home.

At just 18-months-old, he is quite vocal when he wants attention and is a real charmer.

He is much loved in the charity’s shelter and always seeks out their attention for cuddles, but he does desperately deserve his own forever home.

This youngster may love people but he does not like his own kind and would need to be the only cat in the house.

Yoyo is also a biscuit eater and does not like wet food. For further details or to arrange a visit to meet the cats at Animal Welfare please call 01229 836955.

Of the two cats featured in last week's Pet Stop pages, shy black and white Ariel has been found a good home after her owner sadly died.

And after a long wait big and unpredictable black and white Peter is settling into his new home.

THE RSPCA is also very keen to rehome two of its cats who, have also come into their own after settling into their lives in a shelter.

Betty, aged between one and two, is a black and white who came in with her sister Sparkle, who has now been adopted.

Her carers were concerned that once separated Betty may become a bit stressed and nervous but in fact it's quite the opposite.

Betty has become much more confident and enjoys coming out of her pen and having some fuss and love.

She is also quite happy and inquisitive with the other cats in the cattery.

She is neutered, microchipped and vaccinated so is ready to go.

Alfie, the favourite of the volunteers, is a black neutered male aged around about two-years-old.

When he first arrived he was very shy and nervous, would not come out from under his blanket and did not like any attention.

Now however, he has turned into the most friendly of chaps.

He always rushes out when given the chance and actively seeks attention from the visitors. He will make a wonderful pet for anyone.

He is already vaccinated and chipped, so again, ready to go.
