MANCHESTER psychedelic pop act Bingo Harry lead a four-band line-up in Ulverston on Friday.

Featuring members from across the North West, the four-piece outfit - featuring Ulverston's Hannah Houghton - fall under the eccentric Elf Town Records banner, and mix up diverse influences to create a laidback, acoustic pop sound.

Having been performing live for around a year, they already have an EP and an album to their name, and material from the full-length, Windy Spring , is likely to feature at the show, which takes place at Mackenzies, in Market Street.

The rest of the line-up comprises well-established local names, with math rock duo Cassie playing their first show since last month's successful Another Fine Fest in the town. It's also their first appearance at their regular venue since the release of their debut album, Put The Damp Ones On .

The instrumental pair always promise a mesmerising live show, incorporating hard-hitting riffs and complex melodies, along with immense energy.

Furthering the experimental nature of Friday's line-up will be grunge-inspired veterans Runt Hörnet.

The three-piece outfit are immediately recognisable because of their home-made Monobass guitar – a metal pipe with one string and no frets – and their original material, spans hard rock, metal and indie. One of the Barrow rock scene’s leading lights, they retain a hard edge and punk ethos that has seen them appear with all manner of acts over the years.

The Degenerate Art Show, who give nods to acts such as Pixies, The Smiths and Doves, complete the line-up.

The show gets under way at 8.30pm.
