CLASSIC rockers BigFish make their debut at The Derby on Saturday night.

One of the most experienced bands on the local live scene - despite only forming in its current guise earlier this year - the line-up features ex-members of popular local mainstays Rush Hour.

The five-piece outfit sees Steve Harris, formerly with The Works and Catdog, providing bass, acoustic guitars and vocals, while brothers Roger and Lee Payne take up positions on keyboards and drums respectively, with Ian Gibbons on guitars and vocals and Stu Hudson taking the familiar role of frontman.

The eclectic set-list sees the band pick from their personal favourites, with anything from Mike and the Mechanics, Bon Jovi, Stereophonics and Nirvana likely to appear.

They are joined at the venue in Dalton Road, Barrow, by a Brighton outfit heading up especially for the night.

Team New Band feature Barrovian Mark Docherty in the line-up and they are kicking off a mini-tour in support of their new EP, Finally . Another five-piece, their set features original garage rock material that gives a nod to The Hives and Electric Six.

The show on Saturday starts around 8pm and entrance is free.
