ODDBALL punk rock pair The Lovely Eggs have included a Cumbrian date on their latest UK tour.

The Lancaster duo, who have been hotly tipped by NME and BBC 6Music, call in at Ulverston Sports Club, in Priory Road, on Thursday November 12.

Touring on the back of their latest highly-collectable release - a 7" single released on a "fried egg vinyl" - expect both the A-side, the psychedelic fuzz pop anthem Goofin’ Around (in Lancashire) , and brand new B-side Ballad of All Time and That , to appear in the set.

It is the second single to be taken from their new album, This Is Our Nowhere , released on their own label Egg Records.

The Lovely Eggs continue to cement their reputation as one of the most exciting, innovative and genuine bands of the British underground scene and have been selling out venues across the country without the help of management, booking agent or record label support.

With songs firmly set in the hum drum of everyday life, the pair are on a mission to turn normality on its head, blending it with fuzzed out guitar and crashing drums.

Holly Ross, one half of the band alongside husband David Blackwell, says: "We're really excited about coming to play Ulverston. We know there's a lot of good music-related events and stuff going on in the town, so it's a pleasure to come up and be part of it."

Support on the night will be provided by Herb Diamante along with the Sad-Eyed Puffins.

The show starts at 7pm, and tickets are available in advance from www.wegottickets.com
