Following James Hurn’s sell-out tour of 2017, he is back and making his debut at The Beggar’s Theatre at Millom on October 4 (7.30pm), celebrating more than 60 years of Hancock’s Half Hour. The talented actor and impressionist will be performing a brand-new programme Hancock and Co: One Man, Many Voices, including one lost episode of Hancock’s Half Hour, and two episodes he has written himself in the same style as Ray Galton and Alan Simpson, with James voicing the entire cast. There will be plenty of laughs at the Old Laundry’s Laundrama on Friday and Saturday, September 28/29 (7.30pm) when the Bowness theatre welcomes The Wedding Reception. Magician Pete Firman make his Brewery debut with the jaw-dropping tricks that have seen him become a TV regular on shows such as Tonight at the London Palladium. Four women, two plays, fusing love, loss, lust and life are in Beetham’s Heron Theatre spotlight on Friday, September 28 (7.30pm). Theatre Broad’s Ludus - Playful Love is a double bill by Clifford Bax: Prelude and Fugue (Love and Loss), a play set in the 1950s that reflects the musical interlude Prelude and Fugue by Johann Sebastian Bach, and Square Pegs (Lust and Life) a thought provoking farcical romp about lust and life. Confessions of a Red Headed Coffee Shop Girl is the ideal show for anyone who has ever had a job they didn’t like. Performed by acclaimed Canadian actor, comedian and singer, Rebecca Perry, the one-woman show is touring Cumbria as part of the Highlights Rural Touring Scheme Autumn programme and playing Orton Market Hall on Sunday, September 30. The story tells of anthropology graduate, Joanie Little who is stuck working as a barista in a coffee shop.
