AN all-day party takes place in Ulverston this weekend, with dozens of DJs spread across three stages.

Sunshine Groove runs at The Sun Inn on Saturday, taking over the pub, its Basement Bar and the car park with a brand-new outdoor stage.

All of the Furness Peninsula’s best-established DJs and promoters are involved in this special event to mark the end of the summer season, and coinciding with the town’s famous lantern procession during the evening.

Expect to hear many different genres and styles over the course of 14 hours.

Action gets under way on the ‘Potting Shed’ stage at 12.30pm with a set by local favourite Gaz Killip, with Adam Casson and the Twang DJs following hot on his heels.

Throughout the afternoon, the Musical Mayhem, Liaison and Cavort residents all take their turn on the new rig, followed by Se Gillard, and an appearance by Strike One, who recently starred on the WKD stage at this summer’s Kendal Calling festival.

Fallback Productions and Mister Monster both appear, before the outdoor programme wraps up with an appearance from the Home Grown DJs from 10pm.

In the main pub, DJ Shamus and Ste Tyson kick things off at 7pm with a selection of northern soul and funk, followed by Musical Mayhem, a midnight appearance from Mi Casa and the Twang DJs playing through the early hours.

Hip-hop crew the Cartel DJs are first up in the Basement Bar, from 10pm, followed by Joel Talbot, Swerve, and Ulverston’s newest collective, Monument Hifi bringing things to a close from 1am.

Music runs from 12.30pm until around 2.30am, and entrance is free.
