THE first-ever soul weekender is taking place in South Cumbria this autumn.
A three-day festival takes place at the Laurel and Hardy Museum, in Ulverston, from Friday November 2 to Sunday 4.
There will be 13 DJs, performing over four sessions; on Friday night, Saturday afternoon, Saturday night, and Sunday afternoon.
Playing the sounds will be top northern soul DJ Ginger Taylor, from Todmorden, in Yorkshire, Nige Grice from Manchester, Roy Ward and Ian Cottam from Lancaster, and Bob Armstrong from the north east. They will be backed up by a host of local names, such as Shamus, Steve Ahearn, Rob Riley, Gary White, Alex Morrison, Danny Kinghan, Terry Greenway, and Rob and Paul McKeever.
