Sean Mulholland and Sarah Butcher

BARROW’S Sean Mulholland, 24, a recruitment consultant, and Sarah Butcher, 24, a housing benefits officer, got married at the Newby Bridge Hotel on September 15, 2012.

How they met: The couple met at the University of Teesside in 2007 and got together in their third year.

Proposal: The groom proposed in Paris on New Year’s Eve, 2010.

Venue: Newby Bridge Hotel, Newby Bridge.

Theme: Traditional and the colour teal.

Bride’s outfit: The bride bought her gown from Marrime in Kendal.

Groomsmen: The bride’s brother, John Butcher, and groom’s friend Rich Morris were ushers, with the role of best man going to the groom’s best friend from his home town of Barnsley, Scott Young. They wore suits hired from Mr Mister on Dalkeith Street, Barrow.

The couple’s nephew Dylan Bridle was page boy.

Bridesmaids: The groom’s sister Laura Mulholland and the bride’s sisters Alice and Amy Butcher were bridesmaids, along with Rebecca Noon, and the maid of honour was the bride’s best friend Jen Butler. They wore dresses from BHS. The couple’s niece, Grace Haney, was flower girl.

Flowers: Flowers were supplied by Flowercraft, in Barrow.

Reception: Newby Bridge Hotel.

Favours: Guests received five sugared almonds and a piece of Just Married rock.

Cake: A three-tiered cake featuring layers of carrot cake, vanilla sponge and fruit cake, made by Jeanette Anderson and Gemma Mitchell at Cake Creations.

First Dance: Alicia Keys, If I ain’t got you.

Entertainment: Disco, Dave Simpson Entertainments.

Honeymoon: The couple went on honeymoon to America and Canada, spending five nights in New York and four nights in Toronto, and Niagara Falls.
