NATALIE Hargreaves, 24, a sales adviser at Debenhams, and Gary Duke, 24, a logistics operative in BAE Systems, married at Chequers Hotel, Dalton, on August 3, 2012.
How they met: The couple met working together as glass collectors at The Cry, in Cornwallis Street, Barrow. They then met up again three years later on a night out.
Proposal: The groom proposed over dinner at the couple’s home, not long after their son was born. “He isn’t one to make a fuss,” says Natalie.
Venue: Chequers Hotel, Dalton.
Theme: Butterflies and pearls with the colour scheme of ivory, pink and Cadbury purple.
Bride’s outfit: An Ellis Bridal dress bought from Eternity by Nina, in Barrow.
Groomsmen: The best man was Chris Whiley, and ushers were Mike Bower, Alan Dennison, Paul Dennison, Lee White, Stephen Dawes and Dave Coulthurst.
Paige boys and flower girls were the couple’s son, Lennon Duke, and nephews Elis and Theo Gill, and Rio-Evie Goligy, Kori Hayes, and Lola and Jayden Whiley.
Bridesmaids: The bride’s sister Erin Gill and friends Lois Gay, Steph McGill, Lorna Crowe, Pamela Duncan and Grace Martin were bridesmaids. They wore dresses from Debut at Debenhams with pearl jewellery and headbands.
Flowers: The bride carried a bouquet of ivory silk roses with pink and purple roses plus pearl detail, made by Karen Doyle at The Wedding Room, Barrow. The bridesmaids carried a smaller bouquet with the same flowers and colours. The men’s buttonholes were also made by Karen.
Reception: A three-course wedding breakfast at Chequers Hotel, accompanied with rose, white and red wine.
Table settings: The tables were decorated with fish bowls containing flowers and butterflies and purple bows decorated the chairs, all made by Karen Doyle at The Wedding Room.
Favours: Guests received cupcakes featuring a photo of the couple and the wedding date, made by Tracey Worthington at Bake n Bun.
