MARK Heron, 35, a project engineer at BAE Systems, married Derrian Griffiths, 30, a nursery nurse from Walney, on December 1, 2012
How they met: On a night out in Barrow nine years ago.
Proposal: Mark proposed during a surprise trip to Italy.
Venue: Chequers, Dalton.
Theme: Teal with snowflakes.
Bride’s outfit: An ivory princess corset style dress by Ronald Joyce from Eternity by Nina in Barrow.
Groomsmen: The groom and the couple’s two sons (Oliver, aged seven and Riley, aged three) wore grey tailored suits with ivory waistcoats with teal ruches.
The best man, father of the groom and two groomsmen wore the same but with ivory ruches, all from Mr Mister in Barrow.
Oliver gave his mam away and Riley was page boy.
Bridesmaids: The bride’s sister Louise Sharp and the groom’s sister Kim Heron wore full length one shoulder teal Ronald Joyce dresses. The bride’s niece Katie wore a Debenhams ivory tulle flower girl dress.
Flowers: Cala lillies, ivory roses and pussywillow from Deborahs, Barrow.
Reception: A formal three course sit down meal at Chequers.
Table settings: Tables were all decorated with teal baubles and crystals with cala lillies as centre pieces.
Favours: Snowflake shaped shortbread biscuits by the Cake Crusader.
Cake: Four tier cake also by the Cake Crusader decorated with teal and snowflakes with personalised cake toppers.
First Dance: Wherever You Will Go by Charlene Soraia.
Entertainment: Chequers own DJ and Dave Simpson the magician.
Honeymoon: A weekend in London.
