Kelly-Ann Pullin and Christopher Harris

KELLY-ANN PULLIN, a holiday sales assistant at Lakeland Leisure Park, and Christopher Harris, a pipe fitter for BAE Systems, Barrow, married at Chequers Hotel, Dalton, on June 9.

How they met: The couple were childhood friends over 12 years ago. They met up again on a night out in Barrow in May 2006.

Proposal: The groom proposed on a flight to Turkey at the start of a family holiday, in front of 12 family members and a plane full of 300 holiday makers. Christopher proposed as the plane flew over Amsterdam, with the help of the captain who made the announcement before handing the microphone over to Christopher to pop the question.

Venue: Chequers Hotel, Dalton, for the ceremony, reception and night do.

Theme: Only Fools and Horses, with the colour scheme of Cadbury purple and silver.

Bride's outfit: The bride wore a gown by Kathy Ireland, from A Family Affair, in Kendal.

Groomsmen: The best man was Craig Harris and ushers were Mark Heighton and Paul Roberts. They wore grey suits with purple ruches, from Mr Mister in Barrow.]

Bridesmaids: Bridesmaids were the bride’s sisters, Abbey and Ruth Pullin, and the groom’s sister, Ashlea Harris. They wore dresses made by a friend, Julie Twinney, in Cadbury purple with a matching purple bow.

Flowers: The bride carried a white silk rose bouquet, made by Karen Doyle at The Wedding Room, Rawlinson Street, Barrow, and the bridesmaids had purple and white silk rose corsages. The Wedding Room also supplied all the button holes and corsages.

Transport: The bride and father-of-the-bride travelled in a 1932 Ford Sedan. The groom and best man travelled in a 1955 F100 Ford truck in sparkling gold. And the bridesmaids and mothers of the bride and groom travelled in a 1964 VW split-screen Samba campervan, called Juliet.

Reception: Chequers Hotel for a three course meal with wine and Peckham Springs water to continue the theme.

Table settings: The tables were named after Only Fools and Horses cast members. The table centres were vanilla candles with purple and clear crystals. On the top table was a replica cookie jar full of cigars from The Only Fools and Horses series and £50 note napkins continued the theme.

Favours: Candles with purple ribbon in a silver bag for female guests and Cadbury chocolate for male guests.

Cake: A three-tier sponge cake with Cadbury purple ribbon and a rose and diamond wedding cake topper, by Carol at Crafty Cakes. In the evening the table centre candles were replaced by a mini version of the wedding cake and cupcakes, by Crafty Cakes.
