Bernadette Watts and Andre Fearon

BERNADETTE Watts, 25, works in the oil and gas industry, and Andre Fearon, 35, a property developer, married at St Margaret’s Church, Dalton, on November 20. The bride is originally from Dalton and the couple now live in Twickenham, London.

HOW THEY MET: The couple met four years ago at their local pub, The London Apprentice in Isleworth, on the Thames, where Bernadette used to work as a barmaid.

PROPOSAL: The groom proposed on a night out in Brick Lane at a live band karaoke, called Soulbrew. Andre got on the stage to sing and afterwards did a speech in front of the crowds and then got down on one knee and proposed.

VENUE: St Margaret’s Church, Dalton, where Father William Glasswell conducted the service.

THEME: Classical ivory and Champagne with Christmas influences.

BRIDE’S OUTFIT: A strapless, lace embroidered gown in ivory from House of Pronovias (based in Barcelona), purchased from Windsor and Eton Brides.

GROOMSMEN: The groom’s close friend, Dominic Hudson was best man and ushers were the bride’s brother Joe Watts and the groom’s brother Daniel Fearon. They wore traditional tails in navy and Champagne from Debenhams.

BRIDESMAIDS: The bride’s best friend Laura Stagg was maid of honour and bridesmaids were Anna McArthur, a school friend, Bess Penty, a close friend from London and Kerstin Craig, also a close friend from London. They wore BHS Champagne bridesmaid dresses.

FLOWERS: The bride carried a bouquet of ivory roses with gypsophila, provided by Dodd’s Designer Florist, of Ulverston.

TRANSPORT: A vintage Rolls-Royce and vintage Daimler, provided by Gordon Hall Cars.

RECEPTION: A wedding breakfast for 65 guests at Clarence House Country Hotel, in Dalton, followed by an evening reception for 80 guests.

TABLE SETTINGS: Simple candelabras with silver branches along with a story of how the bride and groom met on each table.

FAVOURS: Christmas decorations for the ladies with chocolate coins and Courvoisier miniatures for the men.

CAKE: A three-tier cake in layers of vanilla, chocolate and lemon from The Cake Crusader, Barrow.

FIRST DANCE: The Girl From Impanema by Paul de Garota.

ENTERTAINMENT: Live music by Heart and Soul and fireworks supplied by Crooklands Nurseries.

HONEYMOON: Argentina and Brazil.
