Men from Merseyside arrested after Ulverston incident are bailed

THREE men from Merseyside arrested on Sunday following an incident in Ulverston have been bailed by police.
Just after 5pm, police received reports that three men had visited three different properties in Ulverston and appeared to be looking for a man. There were unconfirmed reports that they may have been armed so, as a precaution, armed police were deployed to the scene. Two people from Ulverston, a 23-year-old man aged and a 28-year-old woman, were found with minor injuries. They did not require hospital treatment.
The men then seen to leave the area in a vehicle and police patrols across the area were alerted.
Police officers identified a vehicle on the M6 and a Mercedes pulled over consensually just before Junction 35. Armed officers made a thorough search of the vehicle assisted by a police dog from Lancashire Constabulary. No weapons were found however a significant quantity of cash and handcuffs were located and seized.
A 29 year old man, a 34-year-old man and a 37-year-old man from Liverpool were arrested on suspicion of assault, burglary and being concerned in the supply of drugs. They have been placed on conditional police bail until 27th September 2012 while enquiries continue.
