TRIBUTES to brave Ulverston teenager Alice Pyne, who lost her battle with cancer on Saturday, have flooded in from people all over the world.
Thousands of mourners touched by the 17-year-old's plight have taken to the internet to express their grief and support for the family.
Mum Vicky Pyne announced her daughter's passing on Saturday night through Facebook, Twitter and the 'bucket list' blog that brought Alice to international attention.
"Our darling girl, Alice, gained her angel wings today," the posts read. "She passed away peacefully with Simon, Milly and myself by her side.
"We are devastated and know that our lives will never be the same again."
Family, friends, celebrities, politicians and even people who had never met Alice but were inspired by her courage express their sadness at her death.
Alice's aunt Jackie Pennington wrote an emotional tribute to her niece on the Evening Mail's website this morning.
"Darling Alice we know you will always shine, a star, we will never forget you," she wrote. "You made a difference. You were strong and your legacy will live with us and spur us on."
Television presenter Davina McCall posted on Twitter: "RIP beautiful Alice Pyne," she posted. "Thank you for making the world a better place."
Alice, who was diagnosed with Hodgkin's Lymphoma more than five years ago, was awarded the British Empire Medal for services to charity in June.
