THE ten-year anniversary of the Barrow Legionnaires’ disease outbreak was marked with a memorial service.
Family, friends and dignitaries gathered at St George’s Church in Barrow on Saturday afternoon to remember the seven people who died a result of the legionella outbreak at the Forum in the summer of 2002.
A candle was lit in memory of each of the victims during the poignant 40-minute service.
Each of the people in attendance were also invited to light a tea candle.
The service was led by Reverend Linda Cronin and included readings from Reverend Elaine Bates, Barrow mayor Wendy Maddox and a rendition of the song 'You Lift me Up' from singer Denis Horan.

Remembering June Miles, a very special lady who i knew when i lived on the Roosegate estate. She worked in the local shop and was very much admired and respected by the community.
