Snow causing hazardous driving conditions in Barrow and South Cumbria

TRAFFIC flow is returning to normal in Barrow tonight following a chaotic few hours on some roads.
Earlier this evening, traffic in Park Road was being diverted following a number of collisions - one of which was said to be close to the Sowerby Woods roundabout with the Dalton by-pass.
A police spokesman said collisions had occurred due to car wheels spinning in the slushy conditions and no one was injured.
Park Road had been gritted in both directions by 7.15pm and police said traffic was moving again, albeit slowly.
Conditions have improved and police confirmed that by 9.35pm Park Road was "fine".
Earlier this evening there had also been a two-vehicle collision in Abbey Road, close to Furness General Hospital, but no one was injured.
And there had been long tailbacks on the A595 approaching Askam from Elliscales roundabout.
Some cars were reportedly abandoned because motorists were unable to drive up the incline in the opposite direction towards the Elliscales roundabout.
Officers also attended an incident in the Gawthwaite area, near Burlington Stone, where two vehicles became stuck.
But by 7.15pm police reported the vehicles had been recovered and the road was clear.
Police were also receiving complaints of people hurling snowballs.
Laura Robinson, a Copeland police sergeant, tweeted: "Lots of anti-social behaviour being reported involving snowballs. Don't throw them at cars or at your neighbour's windows!"

Of course, we'd probably all have to pay £10,000 per annum council tax.Or we could just get the snow shovel out, clear the drive, only travel when necessary, and be sensible....

90% of peaple cant drive forword in good conditions let alone in wet or snoweup roads,mad aS A BOX OF FROGS.
