Six walkers rescued from Cumbria mountain after boxing day walk

SIX people were rescued after getting lost in mist on a Cumbria mountain.

A team of 11 turned out from Coniston Mountain Rescue after a party of six people reported themselves as lost on Coniston Old Man on a Boxing Day walk.

The party had become disorientated in mist and fading light.

Team members quickly located the group who were all uninjured and escorted them off the hill to the waiting Land Rovers where they were transported from the mountain.
