Sheds broken into on Barrow Island

ALLOTMENT holders have been warned to be vigilant following a spate of thefts from sheds in Barrow Island.

Police have reported damage to 23 sheds at the St Andrew's Crossing allotments, with locks being broken and property taken from inside.

The thefts were carried out over the weekend and police are asking nearby allotment holders to check if they have been victims of the crime spree.

Police are concerned further sheds may be targeted and have asked people in the area to secure their belongings.

Investigations are ongoing and efforts are being made to identify the victims. Anyone with any information is asked to call Barrow police on 101.
