Reports of flooding on Furness Roads

REPORTS have started to come in of flooding on Furness' Roads following an afternoon of heavy rain.

The Evening Mail has received calls over concerns surrounding Dungeon Lane in Roosecote and several streets in Dalton.

Cumbria Constabulary is also reporting problems on Abbey Road at the junction with Barrow Road.

It is just passable in both directions.

The name Barrow Road does exist. On google maps its shown to start at the stone trough up to the round about then the hill towards dalton before changing back to abbey road as you pass long lane towards dalton. strange...

According to Google Maps and Bing Maps online, Abbey Road becomes Barrow Road at the junction with Dalton Lane and Abbey Approach, and continues toward Dalton until the junction with Long Lane, before becoming Abbey Road again. Other online maps show the change near Mill Brow garage.

Barrow street map, purchased from Forum 28 tourist office, makes no mention of Barrow Road at all...
