Police called to assault on Walney

A MAN has been arrested on suspicion of assaulting a 63-year-old man.

Police were called to an address in Portsmouth Street, Walney, at 3.22pm yesterday after reports of a disturbance.

Officers discovered a 63-year-old man with facial and arm injuries who was allegedly pushed through a garden fence.

The victim was taken to Furness General Hospital for treatment and later discharged.

* Police say a 34-year-old Barrow man was arrested this morning on suspicion of assault and remains in custody today for questioning.
