COMPETITION to become Barrow’s next top model is hotting up in round two of The Modelling Competition 2008.
Out of the 31 hopefuls in round two, 12 girls will go through to the grand final in September. They will be picked by judges at the Nines.
Evening Mail readers have the chance to give one lucky girl from each round a direct pass to the final, by voting for her.
In round one of the competition, model Sophie Craig, 17 proved a firm favourite with Evening Mail readers. She received almost 1,000 votes and was given her ticket to the final.
Organiser Dawn Kells is expecting a huge response from the public for round two of The Modelling Competition 2008.
She said: “The number of votes has been great.”
This year, the wannabe models are divided into age categories, 16 to 17, 18 to 24 and 25 and over.
One winner from each age category will be selected at the final at the Nines in September.
Each girl will win a one-week holiday to Fuerteventura in the Canary Islands, where they will take part in a photo shoot with a team of stylists to create their own professional modelling portfolio.
The final of round two of the competition will take place at the Nines on July 25. Tickets are £10 and available from Kells Exclusive images on 01229 823401 group bookings of 10 or more can request a table.
