Missing woman 'may be in Lake District'
Last updated at 13:13, Thursday, 27 September 2012
A WOMAN who has been missing for over two years may be in the Lake District, police say.
Debbie Starbuck, formerly known as Debbie Cooper, 44, was last seen on April 21, 2010. She had been living in Desford Close, Old Basford, Nottingham.
In March this year, a friend informed police that he had not heard from her since that day and was concerned, as it was completely out of character.
Officers have carried out a number of enquiries in a bid to locate her, but so far have not found her. Family members and friends have also not heard anything from her.
She is known to have lived in London, Northamptonshire, Dublin, and may also have stayed in the Lake District.
She is described as white, between 5ft 4in and 5ft 5in tall and of medium build. She was last seen with shoulder-length brown wavy hair.
A police spokeswoman said: “We want to hear from anyone who knows Debbie but is yet to speak to the police. If you have seen her since April 21, we also need to hear from you.
“You may recognise Debbie as someone who has stayed at your hotel or hostel, or you may have travelled with her. If you know where she is, please let us know.
“Debbie is well travelled but her family and friends raised concerns because they have not heard from her. She would always be in touch for birthdays and special occasions but for the last two years, she doesn’t seem to have made contact with anyone.”
Anyone with any information about Debbie Starbuck or her whereabouts, is asked to contact Nottinghamshire Police on 101 or Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
