Police name Cumbrian house fire victim

Police have named a man who died in a Cumbrian house fire yesterday.

Police can confirm that the man who sadly died in a house fire in Penrith yesterday has been identified as Mr John Howard Bell, aged 66.

Mr Bell, commonly known as Howard, died yesterday after a house fire and despite efforts by paramedics, died at the scene.

Police and Fire service were called to a house fire at 9:18 am yesterday at Tyne Close Avenue, Penrith.

At this time, it is believed that there are no suspicious circumstances, however police will be working closely with the fire service to piece together exactly how the fire started. 

His family has been informed and the case has been passed to the coroner.
