A MAN has been released on bail after he was arrested following an armed stand-off in Dalton.
Police were called to a property in Broughton Road, Dalton, following allegations of an assault at around 2.30pm yesterday.
At least six armed police officers and trained negotiators were called to the scene, close to The Bridge Inn at the junction of William Close, while a large uniformed police presence put a cordon in place around 500 yards from the property and told residents to remain indoors for their own safety.
At around 5pm police said the incident was resolved.
A 39-year-old Dalton man was arrested on suspicion of assault and interviewed.
He has been released on police bail and is due to answer bail on January 25.

Have your say
Typical response from the Courts. There is an armed seige so after being arrested he is free to cause more trouble the next day.
