He is the second man to be arrested during a police investigation into the incident.

The 29-year-old, also from Barrow, was arrested on suspicion of assault with intent to cause GBH today. He has been taken into custody and is due to be questioned by police
Officers are appealing to members of the public who may have seen the injured man on Wednesday night into Thursday morning to get in touch. They are particularly keen to speak to partygoers who were in local pub The Ram's Head, in Rawlinson Street.
Detective Chief Inspector Bob Qazi said: “ A team of detectives are continuing with this enquiry but it is absolutely vital that we trace witnesses who saw this man on Wednesday night or Thursday morning.
“We believe he was in the areas of Penrith Street, Greengate Street, Rawlinson Street and Ramsden Street. We also believe he was inside the Ramshead pub on Rawlinson Street while a party was going on. If you were there that evening, please call us because you may not even realise you have information that could really help us.
“We are asking the local community to think back. Did you see a man in his 40s of a slim to medium build in cream combat trousers and a grey sweatshirt that night? He is about six foot tall and has receding brown hair and was wearing Adidas trainers with black stripes down the side. Did you witness any argument or fight between two men in the area of Rawlinson Street that night?
“If so, or if you have any information that can help us, please contact Barrow CID immediately on 101 or call Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.”
