Long delays caused by Barrow roadworks

TEMPORARY traffic lights along the A590 caused traffic chaos this morning.

The roadworks, near Kimberly-Clark, reduced the road to a single carriageway and caused long delays during the morning rush hour.

Motorists were stuck in long queues in both directions as workers carried out the maintenance near to the Bank Lane junction.

The traffic lights are expected to be in place until Thursday.

Did the roadworks affect your journey this morning? Let us know in the comments below.

Have your say

Would make sense for them to filter the traffic coming into Barrow into the third lane past McBrides, but as usual that would be to simple for Cumbria CC to think up. Frankly as i use Bank Lane every day to access the A590 I hope the lights stay forever. Like Asda, Ormsgill Hotel junctions turning right onto A590 is a nightmare especially at peak times. Don't know what they are doing at the Bank Lane Junction but all of these need junctions need a roundabout

I would have thought they could have kept traffic moving
Send traffic coming in to barrow past jd motors and mcbrides and traffic leaving barrow passed Kimberley Clarks on the wrong side!!
I came in to barrow today via jd motors and did not get stuck in traffic!!
