Free sports for girls
Last updated at 16:24, Wednesday, 27 June 2012
AS the London 2012 Games fast approaches there are still plenty of ways for people to capture the enthusiasm of the Olympics.
Barrow Borough Sports Council aims to give all women and girls the opportunity to get involved in sport and games by hosting a week of free activities around the town’s best sporting venues.
The Women and Girls Olympic Event aims to inspire more women and girls to find a sport they enjoy.
The activities will be held across a range of venues with the aim of showing people what is available on their doorstep, with exit routes for all 15 activities.
There will be taster sessions on every day from July 16 to 22.
All sessions are for women and girls aged six plus unless stated.
To book a place on one of the sessions contact Dan Myles on 01229 845929, mobile 07581399673 or email dmyles@barrowbc.gov.uk.
