Kendal man found guilty of murdering former Haverigg woman

A jury has returned a unanimous guilty verdict in the trial of a Kendal man accused of murdering a former Haverigg woman.

Terrence Michael Armer, 61, of Buttery Well Road, Kendal, was on trial in Carlisle Crown Court for the murder of Stacey Mackie.

He was charged with murdering her by dousing her in white spirit and setting her on fire in the sheltered accommodation where she lived in Crag View, Kendal.

He was found guilty and sentenced to life imprisonment and must serve a minimum of 27 years.
