Jewellery stolen in Barrow house burglary
Last updated at 15:56, Friday, 09 November 2012
A LARGE amount of jewellery - including a unique pendant - has been stolen in burglary.
Police are investigating the burglary of a house at Old Farm Close, Barrow which happened between 6pm and 10pm on Monday.
The offenders have smashed the lower glass pane to the rear kitchen door to gain entry to the house. Once inside they have made an untidy search of all the rooms and stole a large amount of jewellery.
The elderly occupants of the house where not at home at the time.
The most recognisable piece of jewellery which was stolen was a personal family pendant, which is unique as only two were ever made and was specially commissioned for the family.
DC Mark Bowness said: “We are appealing for anyone who has any information about this incident to contact us. “If you have been offered any of the items which are detailed or seen anything suspicious in the area leading up to this incident, can you please contact us at Barrow CID on 101.
“You may think that the information is insignificant or wouldn’t make any difference, but any detail, no matter how small can make a difference.”
Anyone with any information is asked to contact Barrow CID on 101.
