Furness Model Boat Club's Regatta
Last updated at 08:52, Tuesday, 29 May 2012
BARROW is rightly famed for its ship building industry – and is also home to a scaled-down version of the trade.
Furness Model Boat Club members have created perfect replicas of all kinds of boats and ships.
They hold regular events at Barrow Park lake and have just held one of their regular regattas, attracting some fabulous models including catamarans, yachts in sail and, of course, submarines.
The regatta is one of the club’s most popular events and attracted model enthusiasts from across the area.
Furness Model Boat Club was formed in 1996 and is the latest incarnation of model boat clubs that have been in the Barrow area for many years.
