Five bailed and Samurai sword seized after armed police swoop on Barrow

FIVE people have been bailed and a Samurai sword seized following a violent brawl which saw armed police on the streets of Barrow.

Police were called to the vicinity of Lord Street and Silverdale Street at 2.27am after reports of a disturbance.
On attending the scene, officers were told that people involved in the disturbance may have been carrying weapons.
Witnesses reported seeing a man carrying a BB (ball bearing) gun and a Samurai sword was recovered from a Lord Street property.
Description of the alleged offenders were circulated among police patrols and armed officers were deployed to Arnside and Lord streets as a precaution.
Officers carried out a thorough search of the area with the assistance of police dogs and the area was cordoned off.
Two men aged 23, 24 and two women aged 28 and 49 years, were arrested on suspicion of affray.
A fourth man, aged 22 years, was arrested on suspicion of affray and police assault after a female officer was pushed to the ground.
All have been bailed pending further enquiries.
Investigations are continuing and anyone who witnessed the incident and has any information that can help police enquiries can call Barrow police on 101.

* Police say a 25- year-old Barrow man was arrested today on suspicion of affray in connection with the incident. He remains in police custody.

I am seriously appalled by this carry on!! The 02 live network checker states all is normal in Doncaster when I can definitely tell you this is not correct!! It's Friday night and I can't use my phone.I pay 36 pound a month for unlimited calls and texts!! That's a joke when I can't contact my friends and family at the start of the weekend!! Please get this sorted so we can use what we have paid for ....in advance may I add....
