One man was killed and two others injured after a car crashed into a wall in Cumbria last night.
The incident occurred when a silver Peugeot left the road on Aynam Road in Kendal last night. Emergency services were called to the scene at 10.45pm.
Cumbria Police say one of the passengers died at the scene and the two other occupants were taken to the Royal Lancaster Infirmary.
One of the occupants, a 28-year-old Kendal man, was later arrested on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving. He remains in hospital.
The family of the man who died have been informed.
Cumbria Police have appealed for information about the manner in which the vehicle was being driven shortly before the crash, the events of the collision itself or any other information which could help the investigation.
Witnesses are urged to contact Kendal Roads Policing Unit on 101 or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
