False alarm at Barrow gas terminal

ALARMS sounded at a major Barrow employer this afternoon.

The sirens sounded at the Centrica-owned gas terminal in  Roosecote this afternoon.

However, a spokesman for the company confirmed the incident was a false alarm.

He said: "We would like to apologise for any concern or alarm caused."
