A FEMALE engineer fell from a Barrow telegraph pole - and was airlifted to Preston hospital.

helicopter rescue

The telecomms engineer fell when working on a telegraph pole near French Street behind Vickerstown Park on Walney on Saturday 4 January.

An ambulance and air ambulance attended the scene.

Have your say

I think a lot of people need to stop making assumptions about the "facts" and actually remember the fact that someone was seriously injured here. Regardless of what people do for a living this was someone who was going about her business and doing what she was instructed to do, if at any point she thought her safety was at risk I am sure she wouldn't have put herself in that position. This was a terrible accident and thoughtless comments will not aid in her recovery. Perhaps those who think they know the "actual facts" should think about their source before making heartless comments.
