Dawn raid by police investigating illegal dog fighting in Barrow

POLICE and RSPCA officers carried out a dawn raid at the Barrow home of a man suspected of being involved with illegal dog fighting .

After a briefing at Barrow Police Station at 6am officers headed to Rawlinson Street and began searching the premises on Wednesday March 19.

Investigators are looking into allegations that illegal dog fights have been arranged and held at Salthouse Mills.

They are also probing an incident where a lurcher dog was found dead with its throat slashed at Roanhead, Barrow, in February.
