Cyclist hit by car in Barrow

A CYCLIST was hit by a car crossing a busy Barrow road.

The man was on his way home from work when he tried to cross Abbey Road and was hit by a grey Vauxhall Vectra at around 4.30pm. 

He is conscious and was being tended to by passer-by and qualified first aider Sarah Wills, who witnessed the incident, while emergency services were en-route. 

The man said: "I was being impatient at the traffic lights and next minute I was in the air."

The impact of the collision left a large dent in the Vectra's windshield.

Perhaps it would be a good idea to refrain from the victim-blaming, until the police have finished investigating if there is a criminal case to answer.
