Diane’s shop supplements fitness centre

THE owner of a popular fitness centre is celebrating after opening a new venture.

Diane Singleton, who runs DS Fitness in Abbey Road, Barrow, has now opened a supplement store in a bid to provide a complete health experience.

Ms Singleton said the move had been prompted by improvements in proteins and supplements available to people hoping to improve their physique.

The store, inside the DS Fitness Centre, was opened on Wednesday by Mayor of Barrow, Councillor Wendy Maddox.
“The fitness centre has been open since 1998.

“At the time supplements were seen as something for body builders but now people are realising you can’t just do sports without them.

“There has been some big developments with what is on offer now,” said Ms Singleton.

She cited the importance of proteins to regular athletes.

However, Ms Singleton can also offer full advice on her products after studying sports nutrition.

She said: “A lot of people go online and look for supplements but they don’t know what they are looking for.

“You can come in and see us and speak to someone who can give you advice on what you need to achieve the results.”
