So since I last blogged the world has said goodbye to Whitney Houston.
And as everyone jumps on the bandwagon to say how much they'll miss her music I have managed to avoid it.
Over the years I have enjoyed her music, but I've got to say that 'I Wanna Dance With Somebody' has become my jam in recent years.
Every time it came on in some overcrowded night club the place would go wild, and I looked forward to hearing it.
A Saturday night out with the girls always included a hands in the air over dramatic sing along to Whitney. Often after one too many drinks and before you confess how much you love your friends.
So thank you Whitney Houston for being the soundtrack to many a fun evening.
I'm even listening to it as I write this entry.
And of course the news of her death was one of the big talking points at the Grammys.
The 54th annual GRAMMY awards was held on February 12. I never usually pay much attention to these things, and this year wasn't any different, but it didn't completely slip my radar.
I was very pleased to see Dubstep master Skrillex win three awards!
For most people my age Skrillex is Sonny Moore from American rock band From First To Last. After quitting the band in 2007 he began producing and mixing music. He toured with several bands across Europe and began to gather a following.
Dubstep can be dire in the hands of the wrong person, but Skrillex gives it his magic touch and I think this is why he is so successful.
It was good to hear that he had won the award for Best Dance Recording, Best Dance/Electronica Album and Best Remixed Recording, Non-Classical.
For those who don't know who Skrillex is yet I'm sure you'll find out soon enough.
Not only does he make some great music, he's also programmed and produced albums for the likes of Korn and Bring Me The Horizon.
If you've never heard of the name Skrillex, it's likely you've already heard his music.
