Barrow rubbish collections resumed following bad weather

RUBBISH collection in Barrow has begun again after being delayed by bad weather.
Barrow Borough Council's waste management officers said conditions had improved, making collections possible once more.
However, due to time constraints, residents in Hawcoat may not have their bins collected today and are asked to leave them out for collection tomorrow morning.
Officials said earlier that heavy snow fall yesterday made many of the routes hazardous.
Officers were in Hawcoat at 6am this morning, assessing the roads.
The council has assured residents that any bins missed today will be collected tomorrow.
For more information contact Barrow Town Hall on 01229 876543.

We've been waiting since Christmas for our red bag collection. Reported twice, second collection supposed to be today but expect this one to not be collected either. Hopefully we will have our rubbish collected by Easter!

Have your say
Who do you think drives the Gritters that are flying about our roads? Yep, that will be the bin lorry drivers.Do you think the council brings someone in at a cost when they have HGV drivers already on the staff.
