Police in Barrow are appealing for witnesses to an assault which left a woman with a broken rib.

On Tuesday August 26 at around 4.30pm a 41-year-old woman from Barrow was attacked by a group of young people, both male and female on Alison Street.

Police would like to speak to anyone who witnessed the assault or has any information. In particular police would like to speak to a man who picked the woman up from the ground and also an elderly woman who was in the area with a fluffy white and brown dog.

PC Stephen O’Brien said: “This occurred in daylight hours so someone must have seen something. We ask that anyone who has any information on this incident to get in touch with us.”

Anyone with information is asked to contact police on 101 and ask to speak to PC Stephen O’Brien.
