Barrow MP in hospital after ladder fall

BARROW and Furness MP John Woodcock spent last night in the accident and emergency unit at Furness General Hospital after falling off a ladder.

Mr Woodcock used Twitter this morning to break news of his fall.

In his tweet he said: "Ug, spent night in A&E after falling off ladder: what an eejit. Lucky escape after neck brace, CT scans & palaver. Staff superb. Me bashful."

He added in a later Tweet: "Also big thx to paramedics who stretchered me from scene of eejitry. One said next time I want fact finder on ambulance service pls just ask."

Mr Woodcock is having treatment for a leg injury and is hoping to be allowed home later today (Tuesday).

Followers on Twitter have been sending him their best wishes.

come on guys he only fell off a ladder ...notice he gets better care than anyone else to ..cant believe it made the papers to be honest .ppl fall every day they dont make the paper ..wonder if hel sue :) arh well least he could have a laugh on twitter about it proves hes ok hmmm lovely write up i must say ....

What a disgraceful comment from poacherq. The vast majority of staff at FGH, especially in A&E work damn hard and look after 100s of admissions a day and are tax payers themselves. Several of whom have saved the life of both my brother and one point and a friend's young baby... but noone is interested in the good they do are they? People who complain like you make me sick! Get a job, I bet you just like majority of complainers and sit on your backside all day putting other people down to make yourself feel better.
