Barrow man airlifted to hospital

A BARROW man was airlifted to hospital following a mountain biking accident at Grizedale Forest.

The 30-year-old suffered head injuries after he fell off his bike near Grizedale Forest Visitor Centre.

He was treated at the scene before he was flown to the Royal Preston Hospital by the Great North Air Ambulance's Pride of Cumbria helicopter.

The air ambulance was alerted at 12.20pm on Sunday.

Hi Paul, thanks very much for letting us know that. I wonder if you could perhaps get in touch for a follow up about how your brother is okay thanks to his helmet? I'm on 01229 840144. David Pickthall, reporter.
