Police said the girl was fired at with a ball bearing gun (BB gun) by a man in a passing car.

The incident happened on Wednesday at about 6.30pm as the girl was with friends at Park Road, in Barrow, near the junction of Mill Bank.

Police said the impact left the girl with a red mark on her neck.
