BARROW AFC have been knocked out of the FA Cup following a 4-1 second replay defeat at Macclesfield Town.

Macclesfield took the lead on seven minutes when Ryan Jackson crossed for former Barrow triallist John Paul Kissock, who volleyed the ball into the roof of the net.

The Silkmen then doubled their lead on 16 minutes through Chris Holroyd, who cashed in after mistakes by Barrow defender Sean Hessey and keeper Danny Hurst.

Less than 60 seconds later Bluebirds striker Adam Boyes pulled one back when he was fed by Paul Rutherford and poked the ball into the bottom corner.

Macclesfield scored two further goals in the second half through Matthew Barnes-Homer and Holroyd on 67 and 70 minutes respectively.

Have your say

Yeah your right gurwin, I meant Switzerland, typo, these damn blackberry's. what tragic news from the birdbrain by saying he ain't going to respond to me again, that hurts, the anticipation of reading your replies is the only thing which keeps going me through the day! It's nice to see you say something relevant about a barrow afc thread where you state were going down, we're going to lose. I think you will also find birdbrain, you are the minority by wanting bayliss to stay. The majority of us want him out as his win ratio is a horrendous 14.67%. As for grammar and punctuation, yours is shocking, which is why I believe that you are a 12 year old who has never been through the pain of a relegation like most on here will have. It takes years or a team to recover in non league and bounce back, I we go down, we will be down for at least 5 years. Crowds drop, decent players leave (not that we have any at the moment), there's no parachute payment like premier league. The soccer is not like the raiders where the fans stay loyal, the raiders have done well to survive the atom bomb which was des, afc will feel the keen factor for years to come. Sort it out bayliss!!
