Askam woman dies in three-vehicle crash

A FURNESS woman has been killed in a car crash in the North East.
Lynnette Davison, of Saves Lane, Ireleth, died in a three-vehicle crash on the A69 between Hexham and Haydon Bridge on Saturday.
She was driving a Ford Focus when it collided with a Vauxhall van and Audi TT at around 4pm.
Emergency services were called to the scene but the 52-year-old was pronounced dead by paramedics.
An inquest into her death was expected to be opened later this week by south Northumberland coroner, Eric Armstrong.
A 57-year-old man, who was driving the van, suffered a broken arm and was taken to the Royal Victoria Infirmary in Newcastle for treatment.
The 50-year-old driver of the Audi was not injured.
Enquiries are continuing into the circumstances surrounding the crash and Northumbria Police is seeking witnesses.
