Arrest made after quick-witted PCSO spots assault suspect in Barrow

The quick actions of a PCSO led to the arrest of a 24-year-old man on suspicion of assault yesterday.
Barrow police had been on the hunt for an assailant after a 56-year-old man reported being assaulted on Rawlinson Street, Barrow, at 4.25pm.
The victim is alleged to have been hit by the man, suffering minor injuries.
Police in the area were made aware of the incident and given a description of the suspect., but an arrest was made after a PCSO spotted a man fitting the description in Morrison's car park, Strand at around 4.55pm.
The PCSO alerted an officer and the man was arrested.
He remains in police custody and is helping officers with their enquiries.
Anyone with any information about the incident is asked to call Barrow Police on 101.

As long as your all prepared to pay a lot more in tax to fund it they could all be fully armed, ninja trained, MI5 personnel also. Get real. There's so many people on the scrounge in this country and its become unmanageable. That's why we have PCSOs because we can't afford enough police.
If you are one of these scroungers (and please don't go making excuses for yourself) get out there and earn and pay towards the upkeep of Great Britain plc.

Sarah, no I am not a PCSO or any other law enforcement officer.
And isn't it brilliant news that this made the news? It means we haven't had a serious incident to report in the town.
I could quite happily cope with the news being mediocre as you put it, every single day for the rest of my time here.
